and the man who cut it down. We saw some beautiful parts of this province including Haida Gwaii where the golden spruce, known to the Haida as Kiidk'yaas, once stood. Twenty years later its remains still lay (photo above) on the banks of the Yakoun River.
The documentary, produced by Passion Pictures (SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN), True West Films (IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG) and the NFB will be released sometime in 2014. It's an environmental thriller about greed, passion, sanity, and mystery with an inspiring message. I can't wait to see it!
